Dr Chilov & Dr Fung attend ASRS and MOAC
In July this year Dr Michael Chilov spoke at the prestigious MidWest Ocular Angiography Conference (MOAC) held in Hawaii, USA. He presented on acute idiopathic maculopathy and subretinal deposits in ocular lymphoma.
In August, Dr Fung and Dr Chilov attended the American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS) in San Francisco, USA. The hottest topic at the moment relates to optical coherence tomography- angiography (OCT-A), a new technique utilising current OCT technology to visualise blood through retinal vessels without the need of a dye. This is complementary to conventional fluorescein angiography. Because it can visualise retinal vasculature that cannot be normally seen in vivo (radial peripapillary capillary network and deep capillary plexus), it has the potential to change our understanding of the pathogenesis of multiple retinal diseases.
