Dr Daniel Narayan is a highly regarded comprehensive ophthalmologist who is an expert in cataract and glaucoma surgery.
Dr Narayan graduated medical school at the University of Adelaide in 2013, where he received numerous awards, including the David Crompton prize in Ophthalmology and the Florey Honours Scholarship for his Honours research into glaucoma, receiving first class honours.
Following medical school he was awarded an APA scholarship to complete a higher degree - Master of Philosophy in retinitis pigmentosa. He was subsequently awarded an academic title of Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
Dr Narayan went on to complete his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, then underwent further subspecialty training in complex cataract and glaucoma surgery in Auckland, New Zealand.
He worked as a consultant ophthalmologist in New Zealand, where he was actively involved in the teaching and supervision of trainee ophthalmologists, before returning to Sydney with his wife, who is also an ophthalmologist.
Dr Narayan is frequently asked to manage complex cases, and consistently delivers high quality eye care with his extensive skillset and dedication to achieving the best possible outcome for his patients. In particular, he treats many patients with high-risk cataracts and advanced glaucoma, and keeps up-to-date with the latest advances in eye care, utilising cutting edge technology. He performs all forms of glaucoma surgery including trabeculectomy, drainage tube surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). He also offers refractive cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, glaucoma laser and retinal laser treatment.
